Umdasch Industrieges. m. b. H.Umdasch Industrieges. m. b. H., founded 1868 by S. Hopferwieser as a carpentry; in 1939 Josef Umdasch (b. Au an der Donau, Upper Austria, Aug. 17, 1912, d. Amstetten, March 5, 1990) joined the company and rebuilt it after the war in 1945, making it one of the biggest in Lower Austria; transferred to the outskirts of Amstetten, specialises in formwork technology (DOKA system "bracket platforms") and store construction, has developed into a top European enterprise with subsidiaries and representative agencies in several foreign countries. Turnover (1993): 4.3 billion ATS; 3,402 employees.
