Ramsau am Dachstein, Styria, municipality in the district of Liezen, alt. 1,135 m, pop. 2,343, area 75.40 km2, bi-seasonal tourism (858,326 overnight stays in 1992) situated on a plateau south-east of the Dachstein Massif. - Toll gate of the Dachsteinstraße road, Ramsau am Dachstein cable railway (Dachsteinsüdwandbahn railway) on the Hunerkogel mountain (alt. 2,687 m), sledge run (Kulmberg mountain), mountain refuge. Wood processing. - Documented mention around 1120, was the centre of the Reformation in the Ennstal valley. Roman Catholic parish church with Gothic choir (1444), late Romanesque (early 14th century) and Gothic frescoes, Protestant church (consecrated in 1888/1889); Bavarian, Salzburg and Tirolean Paarhof farmsteads.
