Initially an actor in Prague, Lemberg (Lvív) and Brünn (Brno), moved to Vienna in 1823, acted at the Volkstheater, from 1825 worked as a composer at the Theater an der Wien and at the Leopoldstädter Theater, earned a reputation with his numerous compositions for Nestroys plays.
