Kunike, Adolph FriedrichKunike, Adolph Friedrich, b. Greifswald (Germany), Feb. 25, 1777, d. Vienna, April 17, 1838, painter and lithographer. Studied at the Vienna Academy and learned lithographic printing from A. Senefelder. Established his own lithographic institute in 1817 and worked as a lithographer, and sometimes designer, but most designs for his lithographs were made by renowned artists. K. published serial works, the most important of which is the "Malerische Donaureise" after J. Alt. Literature: ÖBL; NDB.
