JanschkywagenJanschky carriages, term dating from the Viennese haulier Joseph Janschky (1759-1839), used to describe luxurious horse-drawn carriages which were very popular for country excursions, particularly in the Biedermeier era. Janschky´s company had up to 100 horses at a time; after his death the company was dissolved and the horses and carriages were sold at auction.
