Engelhart, Josef, b. Vienna, Aug. 19, 1864, d. Vienna, Dec. 19, 1941, painter and sculptor, studied at the Academies in Vienna and Munich, spent a long time in Paris, travelled to Spain and Italy; founding member of the Secession in Vienna. Painted scenes and characters from everyday life in Vienna, from 1903 also worked as a sculptor (Waldmüller monument in the Town Hall park, Vienna, Karl Borromäus fountain in the 3rd district of Vienna, etc.).
