Vienna, Nov. 5, 1860, composer, worked above all as musical director for Viennese suburban theatres, especially for the Theater in der Josefstadt; 1851-1859 wrote the music for J. Nestroy's plays (e.g. "Kampl") and "Tannhäuser", Nestroy´s parody on Wagner.
